“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” -Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)
Soul on the Move
Have you ever run, not to win, but to survive? Not for medals, but for mercy?
When fear grips your lungs and panic surges, movement is no longer about option, it’s instinct. Now, imagine that instinct being spiritual. That rush, not just fight or flight, but divine direction.
Sometimes, we run away from what haunts us. Pain, shame, regret. Other times, we run toward what saves us. Truth, healing, refuge. And the greatest race we’ll ever run is one of soul preservation.
Look around. The world is sprinting, stocking up, and securing comfort.
But in this rush, we forget that the famine isn’t in food, it’s in faith.
The drought isn’t in products, it’s in presence.
God isn’t calling us to hoard pantry items. He’s calling us to fill spiritual storehouses.
Not canned goods. Scripture.
Not bottled water. Living Water.
This season demands more than physical preparation. It calls for eternal urgency. Run for your life as if heaven is your finish line. When the world races in panic, let your feet move with purpose. Let your stride declare: I’m running not in fear, but in faith.
Journal Prompt: Soul Inventory
What have I been stockpiling, spiritually or emotionally?
Am I running from something, or toward someone?
What does urgency look like in my walk with Christ?
Complete the sentence: “I run because…”
Prayer: A Sprint Toward You
God, awaken a holy urgency in me.
Let me run not from fear, but for purpose. For You, Lord.
Teach me to recognize the race not by panic, but by faith.
Help me stock my soul with truth before the world reaches for comfort.
You are my refuge, my finish line, my strength.
Please help me as I pursue the higher heights and deeper depths of You. Keep me moving only towards the things of You. In Jesus’ name I pray.
Amen.
