“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” -Psalm 147:3 (NIV)

A holy collision, Wrecked and Surrendered.  Where brokenness stops being a story we retell and becomes a place where Jesus writes something new.

Being wrecked doesn’t disqualify you, it positions you. It means choosing surrender over control, healing over hiding. God doesn’t need a polished temple, He desires access.

We’ve romanticized healing and sanitized restoration. But wrecked is the moment you admit you’re not okay. The moment you stop defending the damage.

You don’t get to decide who wrecked you. But you do get to decide who heals you. Healing doesn’t happen by blaming the builder. It happens by surrendering the blueprints.

What if our pain is designed to lead us toward healing and holiness?

Consider what Jesus endured. Betrayal, denial, violence, humiliation, crucifixion, and death. And yet we expect a life free of pain?

Let me be blunt. If we claim to know Jesus, then where’s the logic in asking, “If Jesus loves us, and if God is so loving then why do hardships happen?” He warned us troubles would come. He modeled suffering.

Here’s a more pressing question. Has your suffering brought you to your knees? Has it drawn you closer to Jesus? If not, why?

Pain isn’t the absence of God. It’s often the megaphone He uses to get our attention. So instead of asking why, ask what for? Has it brought you to the feet of Jesus? Has it driven you to the sacredness of the cross? If not, what are you still clutching that’s keeping you from healing?

Each of us carries pain and scars. That’s one thing that connects us as human beings. Yet, it is only through a genuine relationship with Jesus that we can grasp the truth. Our suffering serves a purpose to heal us and sanctify us. We aren’t here to decode every dilemma of life or justify every experience. Our calling is to trust Jesus, trade our pain for His peace, and extend that truth to others.

We could all pen endless narratives about the ways we’ve been hurt, mistreated, or wronged. But without redemption, restoration, and true healing, we remain caught up in bitterness over wounds we haven’t surrendered to Him.

Pain only becomes purpose when you surrender the blueprint.

Spiritual Inventory:

• Am I stuck in a cycle of bitterness or stepping toward restoration?

• What wounds have I built altars around instead of handing it over for healing?

• Do I want healing, or do I just want to remain in the company of misery and keep talking about the hurt?

Prayer: Come Into the Wreckage

Jesus,

I’ve talked about the pain.

I’ve justified the bitterness.

I’ve decorated my wounds with excuses and called it self-protection.

But all it did was keep You out.

I’m done blaming.

I’m done building stories around betrayal.

I’m done giving trauma permission to stay while asking You to stand outside.

So come into the wreckage.

Into the basement of my brokenness.

Into the attic where old lies live.

Into the rooms I kept locked because I didn’t want You to see how bad it got.

Tear up the flooring I laid over resentment.

Strip the wallpaper I plastered over pain.

Burn the blueprint I drew without You.

I don’t want a pretty house. I want a holy one. Not restored for comfort. Rebuilt for communion.

Break what needs to be broken.

Shake everything that needs to be shaken.

Clean what needs cleansing.

Heal what I refused to hand over.

Let this be the place where redemption breathes and restoration roars louder than trauma ever did.

I surrender to you, Jesus.

Amen.
